Green Schools
Green Schools is a whole school action for the environment. It is a student led programme with input from the local community. The programme is operated and co-ordinated by the Environmental Education unit in An Taisce.
St. Flannan's National School have been committed to the Green School's initiative for over 20 years. Our school was the first school in Munster to be awarded a Green Schools' flag. The school community has worked on over nine different themes. In May 2020 our school was awarded a 9th Green School flag for completing a two year project promoting Global Citizenship and Travel. Our theme for 2020/21 and 2021/22 in Global Citizenship Food and Biodiversity. We look forward to working together on this theme to create greater awareness in our school and wider community.
